After a wonderful role in Shershaah, made on the real life story of an Indian army captain Vikram Batra, who was awarded with the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest award for Valour for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War. Sidharth Malhotra is really in demand, lot of people are appreciating his work in the movie and so we are. In an interview, Sidharth has said that ” I feel when you are playing a real life character and you have certain restrictions and you need to do certain things the way they actually happened, So I got a lot of information from his family, his parents and that’s why we could play it well”.
He added, ‘I Remember meeting Captian Batra’s family towards the end of 2015 and around the beginning of 2016. It has been a very long journey because of the film condition in terms of producers and the director. The only thing which was constant was me, so I am happy that it’s finally out for the people to see.
Sidharth also said that his father was very excited, He was recently sending him pictures of his Grandfather serving in The Army. One more similarity between Vikram Batra and his family would be that his Grand Father was in the Indian Army. He Said – ‘My dad went into the Merchant Navy after wondering whether to join the Indian Navy. Vikram Batra was deciding whether to go in the army of the Merchant Navy at the start of his career. My dad got excited to see me in Uniform.
