Well, reading is the most important tool in everyone’s life, however we are deflecting ourselves from it in every aspect of today’s life. Only few people read from books, and the majority of people just look at the information on the internet and share the information, when they do, the other people don’t want to listen and counter them because sometimes it is just informal information of half knowledge.

Here why I am emphasizing on the reading is that you must read biographies of people and famous personalities. Who all had a lot of vicissitudes in their life but still they achieved their goals. I would tell you what you think you are facing right now, must have been faced by someone in the past too, and he/she must have written the same in their biography and you might get the idea or resolution.

Well, Sometimes people fail in their goals, but don’t be upset and accept that failure with dignity and accept your destiny and go ahead with your life. I would like to share with you that Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had written in his Biography that ‘You should have faith in you that you are not destined to become where you have failed, what you are destined to become is not revealed yet, however it is predetermined. Forget about the failure, as it is anyway essential to lead you to your destined path. You ought believe that there was plenty of other work to be done and you ought be going to put your heart and soul into the job or work that have been given to you because anyone who sets out with a goal has to face unexpected obstacles, but we ought not stop, we have to rethink our goals, reorient on path and move forward.

Everyone who could achieve great things in their life all had struggles, yet they had a purpose. Let me share a story of ‘Dr. Sindhutai Sapkal, she is an Indian social worker and social activist known particularly for her work in raising orphaned children in Maharashtra, India. She was conferred the Padma Shri in 2021 in the Social Work category. We all have seen her commendable and espousing work towards humanity. What encouraged her to take care of orphan children, well you have to read about her, how she had faced domestic violence in her marriage. She got married at the age of twelve with the man who was twenty years senior to her. At the age of twenty when she was nine months pregnant, she was beaten by her husband and her husband left her dying unconscious. She gave birth to a baby girl in a semi conscious state in a cow shelter. She was all alone and didn’t know what would happen next, yet she never left the whole purpose of life. Now when we read about her we get to know how an ordeal changed her thoughts and she became Sandhutai. She left her house after that and used to spend nights at the cemetery. She begged on railway platforms for food to feed her girl child. This whole incident changed her way of thinking and she realized that there were many children abandoned by their parents, so she had a thought to adopt them. Slowly and gradually things changed, she got support from different people to feed the orphan children and later Sindhutai devoted herself to orphans completely. As a result, she is fondly called “Mai”, which means “mother”. She has nurtured over 1,500+ orphaned children. She has a grand family of 382 sons-in-law, 49 daughters-in-law, and over a thousand grandchildren. Many of the children whom she adopted are well-educated lawyers and doctors. Some of her adopted children – including her biological daughter – are running their own independent orphanages.

The question is do we allow all our failures to roll over us like waves or did we dive deeper into the matter and try to gain a tad more insights into ourselves. Well, yes, the right way is to embrace the events and analyze how we respond. Sometimes you know that you have to put yourself under immense pressure when you fail and set a goal. I would only advise you to push yourself to your limits so that you could recognize your own true potential. I believe if you push yourself, after a few days of dejection you would definitely revive your confidence and self belief. I know it would not be easy and there would be many moments of frustration and disappointment, however there would be only one way of becoming successful if you would articulate your thoughts well enough because sometimes plans need to be changed and priorities ought to be reassessed.

I have met different kinds of people in my life, they all had their own way of unwinding their thoughts after failure. Some go to temples, some go to parties, some go and travel and some meditate or visit their religious places or pray as per their religious beliefs. Now the question is do you have at least one way of unwinding yourself or your thoughts ? Well, I would share my way of doing it here. One of my relatives once told me about an Ashram in Rishikesh, India, that is located a little way up a hill. Whenever I feel that I am engulfed with failures or negative emotions then I always go there and stay. It gives me a strange feeling and vibration and sense of tranquility. As I said in the beginning, it can be different from person to person depending on how you unwind yourself and emerge yourself with positive energy.

Finally, I would like to tell you that we are living in a world where everything is not done yet, still there is plenty of other work to be done. You just try to find what it is that makes you feel happy about and put your heart and soul into it. Don’t worry about the failure because if you fail, you have to believe that you are almost like every other person who set out a goal and faced unexpected obstacles, however they never stopped with negativity and moved on till they succeeded.
