We came up with our new blog Today, which will help all Freshers and Novice Candidates to understand the atmosphere of any company, whereas you guys will understand the nature of Bosses and Senior Brasses, also know How to Handle These Unpredictable Bosses of the companies. I Believe this article would assist you to understand the characters of people. Ok, So lets Start.
Well, We all know ‘How significant is to know all characteristic of our Bosses‘. I believe when you’d be a Fresher and join a company, then you will get to know that ‘Boss Is Always Right’, However it is not just a phrase, apparently a good relations with your boss can take you to the next pedestal, so that’s how ‘He/She Should Be Right’ Isn’t it ? You know what I meant here….. I assumed the answer is ‘Yes.’
Lets talk about, How can we tame our ‘Famous and Infamous, Distinguished and Undistinguished’ Bosses of our companies, which is obviously not an easy task, however If you would not try by all mean, then you’d be out the race anyways. Whereas only praising you boss lavishly may not help, Perhaps understanding him/her may give you a chance to tame him/her. However understanding them would not be a cake walk, as they are experienced and have survived most of the bad weathers.
Here I have tried to describe ‘Five Characters of Bosses’, which will help you to plan your next move.
(a) Boss Like a Bull
This type of boss would always be angry and unsatisfied, no matter what you do to please them. They believe in shouting and creating unpredictable atmosphere in the office, They are shrewd and emotionless to the subordinated. They would weep and take over all of the credits of the subordinate, and blame subordinate for any verge of disaster. They are not at all a happy person, They always find someone to attack, even if that person is in favor of them. They are mostly found intimidating others, because that’s how they survive in the company. They show their authority, so you can not have a difference of opinion with them. They walk like a bull, their body language is like a confident person but they are not less talented for the position. Most of the companies have hired them just to shout, they are like a Hyper Local Manager, who have strength to fight, so no one try to come in their way to control them.
Handling them would be difficult, you need to take care of them with some Lavish gifts, Supporting their decisions, and asking them everything before doing, Thus don’t try to be their stooge, as they don’t like it at all. You would just save your ass by supporting them and don’t expect anything else in return, else they would jump on you. They have authority to fire anyone instantly. So don’t pick a fight with then immediately.
(b) Boss Like a Tiger
Tiger boss is called the most cleaver boss among every companies, they are always ready to compete. They finish all of their work within the deadline, nothing is untouched when they are incharge, they give credit to their employees too, They appreciate others and lead by examples, They help their subordinated to perform, Thus they are the attacker, whatever good happens in the company it just happens because of them and no one else. They are talented, quick, wicked and hard working people and that’s how they don’t listen to anyone and give orders to their subordinated. They would always save their ass first and would not think twice before throwing someone into a ditch, They are so smart and cleaver.
Handling such bosses, would not be easy, Thus always keep some distance from such bosses and work according to them, else they will eat you up. You need talent and experience to tame them, Thus you can not control them 100%. If you do backbiting against then, they will get to know through their indirect sources. Noting in that organization is saved from such Managers, they live like a king because of their Talent.
(c) Boss Like a Donkey
This type of boss is a butt lickers and reaches to the top position by maintaining very good relations with their senior bosses. They are ready to do anything if the owner or boss asks. They have no brain, no point of view, Thus behave like a pawn and always look for guidance. They are Tenure in the organization even though they would not run the show individually, as they were promoted on the basis of relations and they have menial skills to be on that place, so they’d always be scared. Handling them would be like, just do your work accurately and just don’t disturb them, as they don’t know about the work much. Thus they always look for superior’s advise to do everything, so probably you can try to make a good relationship with their immediate boss and survive easily in that company. You can can get an easy promotion, whereas replacing him would be so easy if you are more talented then them, however don’t just jump onto the second level, start from the beginning, perhaps you might need a Full proof plan to tame them, and to get them off from their seat, However it can happen if you will stick to this job for some long time, slowly and gradually the senior manager would notice your talent and Your immediate boss’s position will be in Jeopardy.
(d) Boss Like a Monkey
This type of boss is fun loving person and does very unusual thing, They are humorous and sometimes they are frustrating too. Their work is a mess, no one can handle the work in their absence and that’s how they survive in the company. They make mistakes and put the company into jeopardy at times, but because their character is like a ‘Monkey’, so they know how to drag things ‘Up and Down, Back and Forth’, to run away and climb a tree. They mostly dodge the issues.
They are aware of their abilities but they only work when time comes, They are not like a hard working, ass ripped kind of person, they understand the deadline and work according to their convenience.
Handling them, going to be easy at times, as I said they make mistakes, just understand their weak point and what they are doing wrong and you would get their nerves in your hand. They would never kill you or fire you, however they might attack you and bite you and may give you pain in the ass, if they know about you knowing their truth and mistakes. So Beware and solve their mistakes in front of them can help you to be friends with them. You can try to be tad humorous with them, as they like to talk a lot about any topic which gives them a vivid imagination to laugh, Thus they enjoy in the office a lot.
(e) Boss Like a Cow
This is very rare boss Material, we almost never find them in any Competitive organization. They are mostly found in small organization, where they get only time bound promotion. They are easy going, never shouts, never put any firm in Jeopardy, always help others and keep everyone happy. Thus people or subordinate uses them for their benefits. They are always busy in work like chewing the grasses, nobody says anything to them until they are productive, Thus once the project is over either they get the transfer from one place to another, or they would be mistreated to resign.
Handling these bosses, would be easy, however these types of people would give you a lot of learning, so try to learn something from them about the Project and work, as they have the best information. The more Technical information you’d have about the work, the more chances would be there for you to grow in life. But don’t adapt anything from their nature, as it is against the rule of survival, mostly if you are in the corporate world.
I hope this article will help you to plan you future in the jobs, even if you are a Novice or experienced, because these kind of managers would be found everywhere in every organization, and knowing it that how these can be handled and tamed, would give us a mind set to move on and give it a try, instead of falling into their traps and surrender because of inexperience.
